Someone may heal physically, relationally or psychologically in ways that involve grief but also protection, repair, new experience and time.

The relationship should therefore not be simplified into “grief causes healing.”

Rather, when something important has been lost, allowing grief to move can be part of what prevents the loss from remaining frozen outside the rest of life.
