About the Institute

The questions of the AI age cannot be answered by technical systems alone. They require a renewed understanding of what human beings can train, mature, sense, create, love, govern, and become.

Its work is young in public form, but it is not thin. It grows from decades of lived practice across art, law, philosophy, design, embodiment, cultural production, and the study of human transformation.

The Swedish Institute of Inner Technology was founded by Camilla Wellton and Tomas Wellton to develop human capacity, inner development, culture, and practice for the age of artificial intelligence.

founders

The Institute was founded by Camilla Wellton and Tomas Wellton, father and daughter, whose lives have moved through different but deeply related territories: design, authorship, law, philosophy, culture, embodiment, systems, and the long question of how human beings become capable.

Their shared work brings together two forms of intelligence.

One is creative, embodied, symbolic, and future-facing.

The other is legal, philosophical, historical, and concerned with judgment, responsibility, and human dignity.

Camilla Wellton

Camilla Wellton is a French Caribbean-Swedish designer, author, systems architect, and founder based in Stockholm.

Her work began in fashion, where she developed a language of form through cut, construction, movement, sensuality, and the intelligence of the body.

As a self-taught fashion designer and pattern constructor, she became known for precise silhouettes, unusual structures, and clothing designed to be lived in rather than merely displayed.

Over time, her work expanded beyond fashion into publishing, education, music, practice design, symbolic systems, AI, and human development.

She is the creator of the I AWAKE universe, the Sensual Institute, the Inner Technology white paper series, the Institute’s core frameworks, and the wider body of work gathered through the Swedish Institute of Inner Technology.

At the Institute, Camilla holds the overall vision, field thesis, narrative architecture, practice logic, visual identity, and creative direction.

Tomas Wellton

Tomas is a co-founder of the Swedish Institute of Inner Technology.

His legal career, as Sweden’s youngest defense attorney at the time, began in the 1974 in Stockholm and developed over five decades until his retirement in 2023.

His professional life has been shaped by questions of justice, argument, responsibility, rights, freedom, and the conditions under which human judgment can remain clear under pressure.

After many years in law, he took time to study philosophy, ancient civilizations, and the history of ideas.

His intellectual life has long included Eastern philosophy, science fiction, ethics, language, civilization, and the deeper patterns that shape human societies.

Now retired from active legal practice, Tomas still works across multiple industries including real estate, corporate development, and finance. And as part of the Institute’s formation, he is both co-founder and intellectual presence.

His contribution grounds the work in civilizational memory, philosophical depth, and respect for human dignity.
