Receiving

Receiving is the capacity to let something good reach you.

What this capacity means

Receiving is the capacity to let something good reach you.

Care. Attention. Recognition. Pleasure. Support. Help.

This sounds simple until it is not.

Receiving can create vulnerability because accepting something means acknowledging that we are affected by other people and cannot manufacture everything we need alone.

Some people respond by minimizing gifts, immediately repaying them or insisting they were unnecessary.

Receiving asks for something different.

A moment in which the good thing is simply allowed to arrive.
