Trust

Trust is the capacity to extend reliance proportionately on the basis of experience, evidence, consistency and repair.

What this capacity means

Trust is the capacity to extend reliance proportionately on the basis of experience, evidence, consistency and repair.

Healthy trust is neither total suspicion nor blind faith.

It develops in degrees.

Can this person keep a confidence?

Can I rely on them to arrive?

What happens when we disagree?

What happens after one of us makes a mistake?

Trust becomes stronger when reality repeatedly supports it.

It should also be allowed to change when reality no longer does.

The ability to withdraw or recalibrate trust is therefore part of trust capacity itself.
