Imagination is the capacity to generate and explore possibilities that are not currently present.
Imagination is the capacity to generate and explore possibilities that are not currently present.
We use it constantly.
To anticipate a conversation.
Design a building.
Remember someone’s face.
Imagine another person’s experience.
Rehearse danger.
Invent a future.
The same capacity can therefore liberate or frighten us.
Imagination is not inherently escapist.
It becomes useful when we can move between imagined possibility and present reality without confusing the two.
It allows us to test worlds before we build them.
